Job Description:
The Channel Sales Engineer creates preference for Juniper
technologies and solutions, with Juniper's Channel Partners.
Channel SE's architect, design and sell into Enterprise, Tier2/3
SP, and Commercial accounts, in lock step with Juniper Channel
Partners. Daily activities include presales engineering, technical
enablement, business development, and sales engagement. All in
support of revenue growth for Juniper's Channel Partner business,
and AI-Driven Enterprise strategy. This position reports to the
West Channel Sales Engineering Manager, and is teamed with a
Partner Account Manager and/or Business Development reps. It is
also closely aligned to the Area Partner Sales Director.The
successful SE candidate will be an accomplished self-starter;
possess strong, hands-on, Technical Skills; have practical
experience in design/concepts of Enterprise Networks, Security
solutions, and Cloud-enabled Networks; will preferably have working
knowledge of Juniper products and technologies; have a successful
history / experience as a Customer or Partner facing Sales/Systems
Engineer, and possess excellent communication, presentation, and
organizational skills. This is primarily a pre-sales
role.Channel/Partner experience is preferred.Must be willing and
able to travel as required to meet business and customer
demands.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include Technical
Enablement and Training of Channel Partners, as well as pre-sales
engagement with Partners and Customers. The ability to run a
successful POC and/or Demo. Provide partners with Solution support,
Technical field readiness, New Product Introductions, roadmap
discussions, business planning, and Quarterly Tech / Business
reviews.A day in the life: Foster trusted relationships with key
Partner contacts, from individual contributors to Technical
Leaders. Ability to differentiate and competitively position
Juniper and Partner solutions, in the areas of AI-Driven
Enterprise, Connected Security, Cloud-ready Data Centers, and
Automated WAN Solutions. Collaborate with Commercial/Field Sales &
SE teams to position Partner capabilities and offerings. Act as a
technical liaison between Juniper and the Channel Partner, to
include product management, marketing, SE, and sales teams. Be "the
voice of the field", bringing field needs and observations into the
BU to improve product alignment. Develop a community of 'Partner
Champions' to promote technical expertise and self-sufficiency.
Keep technical sales professionals up to date on Juniper products,
solutions and innovation. All of this drives value and
profitability, for both Juniper, and our Channel Partners, in your
assigned Territory.Qualifications:Minimum 5 years
practical/hands-on experience with Enterprise networking
technologies, including campus / branch, IP routing, security, data
center, and cloud concepts. Must have the desire to learn and lead
Network transformation for the cloud era. Juniper delivers this
through AI and a superior, Cloud based, user experience.Must
correctly position Juniper's products against our competitors.
Including an understanding of competitors products and technology
as the industry evolves. Solid understanding of foundational
Network Protocols, including: TCP/IP, L2/L3 switching, Enterprise
routing, OSPF, BGP, VLANs, 802.11, Campus switching technologies
like Stacking/Virtual Chassis, -L4-L7 firewalls (NGFW), IPSec -
VPNs, SD-WAN concepts, Cloud security architectures (SASE),
EVPN-VXLAN / Data Center Fabrics and Architectures, Reading Packet
Captures, and general network design, architecture and
troubleshooting skills. Experience in pre-sales engineering and
processes desired.Must communicate clearly and professionally, both
orally and in writing, on complex technical and sales issues, to a
variety of audiences, including executive level Technical decision
makers.Convey complex Technical concepts/solutions to Business
Decision Makers, using relatable language from a Business/Sales
perspective. Develop, and deliver, sales, and technical training,
to small and large groupsBS / BA in engineering / computer science
or 5 years equivalent work experience in computer or network
communicationsA positive attitude.Juniper certifications or
relevant industry cert/credentials a plus
