initiating a search for a Environmental Field Technician for our
San Jose office. The following locations will also be considered:
Sunnyvale and Roseville . Be involved in projects with our Waste
Management Earth & Environment Team and be a part of a growing
organization that meets our clients objectives and solves their
challenges.Environmental Field Technicians work with project
managers or project professionals on a variety of groundwater,
remediation, industrial, air and gas sampling/ monitoring and
municipal solid waste/industrial/construction and demolition
landfill projects. They work independently driving company trucks
to various job sites collecting water, soil and gas samples.
Technicians operate various types of generators, air compressors,
pumps and pressure washers to take from monitoring wells. This
individual should be able to follow regulatory requirements,
standard operating procedures, and WSP protocols, exercise
independent judgement and be able to complete tasks and projects
with little to minimal oversight.This individual will be in the
field at least 90% of the time with most of the work occurring
between the San Francisco Bay Area, Central Valley, and the Central
Coast. Candidates can be based remotely, but should plan on working
out of one of our offices in the Sacramento region (Roseville) or
South Bay (San Jose or Sunnyvale) once or twice a month.Your
ImpactSampling and/or monitoring, which can include the following:
soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water, air, landfill gas and
leachateOperations and Maintenance (O&M) of pumps and other
equipmentPerform repairs of field equipment and/or arrange for
repair with vendorPackage, create chains of custody and transfer to
courier or ship samples for laboratory analysisMaintain quality
control standards and procedures for accurate and precise
measurement and documentationGenerate complete, accurate, and
concise documentation using electronic systems and field/work site
notebookComply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures
which include but are not limited to, the maintenance of sample
collection, location data, laboratory or statistical documentation,
and logbooksPerform additional responsibilities as required by
business needsWho You AreRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma
or general education degree (GED)Minimum of 3 years'' related field
experienceMust be mechanically inclined with experience operating
and troubleshooting tools and equipmentAbility to add, subtract,
multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
common fractions, and decimals, compute rate, ratio, percent, and
draw and interpret bar graphsAbility to work both independently and
as part of a team, self-motivation, and strong work ethic.Ability
to regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds unaided and 50-100
pounds with assistance and/or proper engineering controlsAbility to
read project site location as-built plans and blue printsAbility to
speak and hear, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or
balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.Basic proficiency with
business writing, office automation and communication software,
technology, and toolsProficient self-leadership with attention to
detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a
dynamic work environmentMust be able to work up to 12-hours
outdoors in hot or cold environments safely.Travel Required:
90%Valid U.S driver s license and satisfactory driving
record.Preferred QualificationsAssociates or four-year degreeAn
understanding of environmental or civil engineering, geology,
chemistry or biology, or related disciplinesAn understanding of
civil, mechanical or electrical construction or earthworksFirst
Air/CPRMSHA and OSHA 40 hour Hazwoper training and
certificate.Located in and/or willing to cover sites located
between the San Francisco Bay Area, Central Valley, and the Central
