We combine our established expertise in creating comfortable, adjustable beds with the latest in sleep science, cutting-edge sensor technology, and data processing algorithms. The ideal candidate has strong security and systems experience and has worked with cloud, mobile, and/or embedded/IoT device ecosystems in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment. As a trusted business partner and thought leader, we need someone who brings both technical expertise and a practical, risk-based approach to the job. This is a highly technical role with approximately 50% as architect and 50% hands-on. We're looking for a contributing team member to mature our overall product security program, mentor others, and be a hands-on business partner to our product teams to deliver innovative and secure products and experiences to customers.Primary Responsibilities

  • Establish best practices for the effective avoidance, identification, and resolution of security weaknesses in devices, cloud services, mobile app and data platform
  • Engage with functional teams as both advisor and contributing team member to enable building security into complex systems across the entire product lifecycle (from concept through deployment and use), including conducting security reviews and coordinating penetration testing.
  • Mentors developers and testers in security activities during the product lifecycle, such as secure design reviews/threat modeling, security code reviews, security test planning, and component security hardening, to identify potential security weaknesses.
  • Innovate on technical solutions to solve security challenges in product architecture, implementation, testing, release, and operations, as well as the business processes that enable secure delivery of components within the eco-system.
  • Work closely with the other functional groups at sleep number to execute key functions such as secure code signing, secure manufacturing, and secure product operations.
  • Keep abreast of advances in secure system design and development practices, threats and threat actors, and new attack techniques or areas of security research, and provide guidance to the product organizations to help them avoid or mitigate future security concerns.
  • Lead the product security in terms of developing product security standards and processes and defining appropriate program metrics. Drive maturity and adoption of the overall program.Position Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, related field or equivalent experience.
    • 10 years of relevant security design and architecture experience.
    • Secure software / systems development lifecycle experience.
    • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in following areas: ( System security engineering, Embedded device security, Application hardening, Security Testing / Penetration Testing, Mobile application security, Cloud security(AWS and Azure), Cryptography, Single SignOn)
    • Knowledge of common security standards and best practices, such as NIST, ISO, CVSS, OWASP Secure Coding Standards.
    • Experience leading secure architecture, design, and code reviews in AWS/Azure Cloud and embedded systems.
    • Experience in building and deploying secured Docker Containers
    • Direct development experience in languages including C/C++ Python, and Java; Go or Swift experience desirable.
    • Familiarity with security vulnerability detection and security test automation tools
    • Certification in Software security is a nice to have
    • Working experience in FIM, NIDS, HIDS, SIEM is desirable
    • Experience with CI/CD tools and practices
    • Experience in Agile, DevOps development methodologies
    • Experience using CIS Security benchmarks or US DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides
    • Experience with the Consumer Internet of Things (IoT) products is a must
    • Competence in resolving problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
    • Experience in implementing HIPAA,PCI, GDPR and CCPA is desirable
    • Should be able to deliver security concepts and challenges to various levels within the organization (e.g.,developers, program management, business leaders)#SIQL
