Our team is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer with specific knowledge in attitude determination/control systems design and modeling for satellite systems. As a Systems Engineer you will: - Perform requirements development from design reference mission goals, and flow them to attitude sensing and control systems specifications - Model flexible multi-body dynamic sensors - Develop control algorithms - Understand cost savings where these models and capabilities can be deployed to other programs across the enterprise - Work with program management to provide important resources at the right time for the projects to be successful - Understand risk and reward opportunities in systems engineering and make recommendations for cost or schedule savings that might result - Contribute as a mentor to junior engineers - Be able to be a technical lead, recognizing there are opportunities for formal leadership opportunities - Produce good oral and written communication products that will be presented to management, customers, peers, and junior engineers - Participate in design reviews, table top reviews, formal failure review boards when necessary Typically has 14 - 20 years of professional experience. Basic Qualifications: - Master's degree from an accredited college in an engineering discipline or equivalent related experience - 7+ years of previous space systems experience - Extensive technical expertise to work under minimal direction and provide technical leadership in at least one of the following: - Hardware CPE - Mission Design (including orbit determination, trajectory planning, attitude planning) - Attitude controls - Attitude determination - Relative navigation - Integrated flight software/simulation and testbed simulation - Payload controls - Modeling and simulation using Matlab and Simulink - Aerospace Systems Engineering Principles, Architecture Development - Active TS/SCI security clearance Desired Skills: - Intimate knowledge of commercially available attitude determination sensors' performance - Familiarity with common software development processes and with development software tools (including MATLAB, Simulink, Visual Studio, and configuration management software) - Experience from participation in all phases of a satellite development program (proposal, SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR, and product delivery) - Demonstrated technical leadership BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: job.Qualifications Lockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
