Systems Engineer (G09) (Security Clearance required)

Raytheon Applied Signal Technology (RAST) seeks a Systems Engineer who will be responsible for development, integration, test and deployment of systems for a variety of government missions. This systems engineer will collaborate with customers, RAST senior leadership, other systems engineers and software/hardware/FPGA engineers to develop new systems and Concepts of Operations as well as troubleshoot, enhance and maintain existing systems. In addition, this engineer will lead and perform the installation and field test of new technology systems in customer facilities to ensure customer mission success.The Systems Engineer will be able to:Rapidly come up to speed on existing products, systems and capabilities that relate to areas of current and new developmentUnderstand platforms used for systems in government missionsUnderstand customer objectives and requirements, and conceptualize and put into practice new solutionsBrief those solutions to the customer community as the customer concepts evolve into firmer requirements and expectationsDefine, analyze and document CONOPS, system requirements and specifications, and system architectureDefine, execute, and document technical trade, impact, and risk analysesGenerate concrete plans for loosely defined and/or highly complex challenges to enable engineering teams to execute and deliver solutions accordinglyLead teams of engineers to develop and integrate software, hardware and FPGA components and platforms to form new solutionsLead, plan and execute system integration and test as well as system deployment effortsProvide technical, system operation and training supportMaintain customer focus throughout the systems/product development lifecycle to ensure satisfaction of customer objectives within cost and schedule constraintsTravel to various RAST locations and customer facilities for approximately 25% time.Required Skills:Minimum of 6 years of experience in systems engineering and product developmentPractical experience in the development and deployment of advanced products and systems, including involvement with development and integration of software, hardware and FPGA-based components and subsystemsExperience with systems integrationExperience as an individual contributor and/or technical lead in all phases of systems/product development life cycleExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skillsStrong presentation and collaboration skills, especially in working with senior leadership, and external customersAble to travel as needed (-25%)The willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearanceU.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systemsU.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.Desired Skills:MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent8+ years of experience working with the SIGINT and/or airborne ISR communityActive TS/SCI clearanceExtensive experience in broadband communications including telecommunications, networking, network operations, transport structures and switching equipment; or deep understanding of a related area and the demonstrated ability to come up to speed quicklyPractical experience in development and implementation of distributed processing architectures which address large-scale system issues, including processing and storage architectural tradeoffs, dataflow bottlenecks, delivery latency and database performanceUnderstanding of communications signal processing including the following areas: RF communications, optical communications, propagation, receivers, modulation and demodulationExperience in development and implementation of digital signal processing algorithms, application software and embedded software for hardware platformsExperience in development of communications systems architecturesIn-depth knowledge and expertise with ISR airborne sensors, missions, and manned and unmanned airborne platformsPractical experience with ISR airborne systems integrationPractical knowledge and experience with antennas, RF propagation and receiversProven ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and prioritiesRequired Education: BS Electrical Engineering or equivalent 125813BR 125813
