team is the center of excellence in data mining/applied machine
learning in the Ad Data and Common Service organization. We deliver
scientific leadership through new technologies powering the
company's advertising products across multiple platforms and
devices. We solve critical and challenging problems in targeting,
identity graphs, text/image classification, and privacy preserving
attribution. Our goal is to use AI/ML to power Yahoo's advertising
platforms with more intelligent ad targeting & identity graphs, ad
content moderation, ad exchange & supply optimization, ad
effectiveness measurement, and ATV products. We are looking for
research interns to join us in the summer of 2023 to work together
with our talented researchers on challenging projects with both
science excellence and business impact.Job Responsibilities
- Collect and conduct statistical analyses on large-scale data
sets from production systems to extract insights, and identify
problems or areas for improvement.
- Explore, devise, prototype, and evaluate complex models and
algorithms that can be integrated into the advertising platforms to
solve real business and product problems.
- Apply scientific thinking and techniques to improve the
performance and effectiveness of our products.
- Have the opportunity to present your work internally and
publish externally.Required Skills/Experience
- Current graduate students in pursuit of Ph.D. degrees in
Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related area.
- Strong research experience in one or more of the following
areas: Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Mining,
Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Multi-Party
Computation.
- Outstanding academic performance and research ability.

ranges from $45,760.00 - $135,200.00/yr and will vary depending on
factors such as your location, skills and experience. The
