They collaborate with engineers, product managers, and amazing designers and researchers to drive a user-centered design process for small to medium sized projects. Product Designers serve a vital role at Yahoo and help to define the vision for new features while owning and driving the craftsmanship for every interaction and visual design detail. As a Product Design Intern, you'll spend 10 - 12 weeks working alongside exceptional designers on key strategic projects, creating compelling and beautiful user experiences, and having fun in a positive and supportive environment.A LOT ABOUT YOU:You're a user-centered designer who is passionate about the macro and micro interactions, data visualization, and information architecture. You thrive on collaborating with cross-functional peers to bring clarity to ambiguous product and design challenges. You love taking broad concepts and turning them into something that is useful, valuable, and delightful to users. You want to play a key role in developing and executing a creative strategy around user-centered design initiatives, mixing business and user goals to create awesome experiences for our users. An ideal candidate will also have experience designing simple experiences for a complex space that feature a lot of interaction--data visualization experience is a plus!YOUR DAY TO DAY:

  • Collaborate with a talented team of designers, user researchers, product managers, and engineers
  • Learn from seasoned talent on how to apply design theory to a wide range of products spanning devices and platforms
  • Help create new experiences and refine existing ones
  • Engage in brainstorming, wireframing, visual design, and other user-centered design processesBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human Computer Interaction, Visual Communication, or a related field
    • Must be currently enrolled in university with graduation dates starting June 2023 and onwardWHAT YOU'LL BRING:
      • A great attitude and willingness to learn
      • Excellent command of typography, color theory, and composition
      • Solid interaction design skills
      • Working knowledge of Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite
