Job Description
This role will be based in either San Francisco, Sunnyvale,
Chicago, Seattle, New York, or Home Office depending on which
location the applicant chosen for the role is currently residing
in.

We're looking for Researchers to join our team of critical thinkers
and curious minds, to work with us in partnership and collaboration
with product design, content design, product management,
engineering, marketing, market research, and data science. Building

Responsibilities
Partner with design, product, and marketing colleagues to
understand business needs, and design appropriate research studies
to generate user-focused insights.
Design and conduct user research studies, including surveys,
in-depth interviews, field studies, focus groups, and
concept/prototype testing.
Foster collaboration with designers, product managers, marketers
and sales to translate insights into actionable recommendations
that inform innovation and execution.
Work in partnership with other researchers and organizations within
LinkedIn (e.g., data analytics) to create comprehensive and
coordinated research strategies that triangulate data from
different sources/methods to develop recommendations.
Deliver compelling research findings with clear
recommendations.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of experience in user or design research.
Degree in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Human Factors,
Anthropology, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, a related field -
or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience consulting with stakeholders to define and drive medium
to large-scale projects per quarter that have some degree of
ambiguity or complexity; Can take business objectives and user
needs, and turn them into a research program.
Demonstrates ability to sit down directly with stakeholders, and
consult/probe/challenge as necessary to put together a coherent
research brief, scoping for both business and user needs. Has an
understanding of business area priorities, can articulate product
strategy and how it relates to what we know about our customers -
and can advocate for what we don't.
Experience executing research that demonstrates a solid
understanding of user-centered product development, research
methods, user data analysis, and UX principles.
Ability to lead scoping of research, and prioritize based on
alignment/impact of project with adjacent projects on the user
experience.
Demonstrates knowledge of a range of common user experience
research methods; Understands which method/s to use according to
different needs, and how to combine them, including secondary
research (e.g. literature reviews).
Experience in both Quant and Qual methods, knowing how to sequence
research accordingly to build a body of insights; Can innovate as
needed.
Highly skilled in synthesis. Can take multiple inputs from related
studies, and describe what the patterns are that emerge over the
longer term, or from multiple rounds of research.
Effectively tells a compelling, polished story in engaging or
creative ways, through a variety of formats.
Effectively identifies, advocates for and initiates opportunities
to bring efforts together - and delivers research that addresses
multiple objectives across more than one team.
Evangelizes the purpose and value of UXR within the product
development lifecycle - and gets wide buy-in for the customer
insights and perspective they are providing.
Capable of thinking globally and at scale - including considering
all the partner teams they might need input from to answer a
question; Effectively negotiates user, technical and business
needs, while delivering consistently high quality, impactful
research.

8-5-201(2): (Colorado only) The minimum pay for this role is
$108,000.00. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array
of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to
skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific
office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of
labor considerations.
The total compensation package for this position may also include
annual performance bonus, stock and benefits. For additional
