The Cameras and Sensors Group has the responsibility for taking breakthroughs in core technology and delivering them to market at scale. The Cameras and Sensors Group is looking for a Camera Systems Engineering Intern who will participate in the development of next generation RGB camera technologies for AR/VR applications. Our internships are twelve (12) to sixteen (16) weeks long, and we have various start dates throughout the year. Explore and research next generation camera technologies for AR/VR productsWork closely with XFN team members on image simulation, design of experiments, and image quality analysis including building up the test automation. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelors or Masters degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related technical disciplineMust obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employmentAcademic and/or industry experience in camera module design, optical simulation, metrology, testing and lab work to verify imaging component, assembly and system level performanceExperience collaborating with cross-functional teamsExperience with electrical circuit design and test Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-opExperience with camera lens design and characterizationExperience with image sensor design, characterization and tuningExperience with color science and image quality evaluationExperience with ISP tuningExperience with camera module manufacturing processes and production testingExperience with RRB camera design and manufacturingExperience with mechanical tolerance analysisExperience image processing in Python or Matlab Facebook's mission is to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together.
