Product Manager Tech III - Cloud Enablement

Company: Amazon.com, Inc.
Location: Sunnyvale
Posted on: June 10, 2021

Job Description:

Amazon's eCommerce Foundation group is looking for passionate, results-oriented, inventive, and influential technical product managers to lead the definition of Amazon's next-generation AWS-enabled development platforms for the tens of thousands of developers building Amazon's Consumer Websites and related proprietary technologies.

As a Sr. Technical Product Manager, you will represent AWS's largest customer -- Amazon's Consumer Business. Working closely with technical and business leaders across the company, you will define business cases and models for new public-facing capabilities, partnering with engineering teams across AWS and your own group to build and deploy these new technologies. You will help lead new cultural and technology directions: moving Amazon's largest engineering communities away from proprietary implementations towards native AWS solutions such as Lambda and ECS, driving AWS services towards easier use for the world's largest enterprise customers, and innovating next generation cloud technologies.

This is an extraordinarily high-impact role requiring innovative thinking - you will have very strong executive support for your mission.

As the ideal candidate, you will be experienced in managing cross-cutting technical products and projects with industry-wide impact. You will have a proven track record of shipping complex software solutions through an agile methodology. You will have the ability to dive deep into the understanding of problems in order to help engineering and business teams and leaders make the right decisions. You will be a strong communicator and will have proven abilities in leading through ambiguous situations.

  • 5+ years product management and/or business leadership experience, preferably with an online or cloud focus.
  • Strong customer experience judgment, and a track record of delivering valuable customer-facing features.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple sophisticated projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Proven track record of delivering results in large, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Superior analytical and quantitative skills; experience using data and metrics to test theories, confirm assumptions, and measure success.
  • Proven ability to identify, analyze, and solve ambiguous problems with an extreme attention to detail.
  • Thrives in a high-energy, fast-paced environment where tactical and strategic initiatives are driven in parallel.
  • Experience owning public business initiatives from start through launch.
  • Experience leading diverse, large, highly technical cross-company-large-scale architecture and cultural changes, influencing engineers and engineering leaders at all levels.
  • Experience defining engineering best practices as it relates to the secure adoption of and migration to cloud technologies.
  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning.
  • Experience bridging technical and business teams to collect and refine requirements, prioritize incoming work requests, and ensure all committed work is delivered on time.
