The ADECT QAM will responsible for managing a team for certification and automation of Alexa enabled 3P devices. The QAM will be the quality leader to ensure the highest quality for ABI devices that maintain the bar for Amazon Alexa's customer obsession.

A day in the life

As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will work closely with the Product Management, Software Development Engineering, User Experience Design, and Customer Support groups to understand the product vision, requirements and customer usage models and develop appropriate test strategies. You will be setting the QA team's technical vision and roadmap, developing and tracking project schedules. The successful Quality Assurance Manager has strong customer focus and is obsessed with continuous quality improvement; they are experienced and highly committed to creating world class automation for feature testing and regression; they are able to develop and drive a high-level strategy, as well as to take a hands-on approach to implementing that strategy. They are dedicated to building a strong and high performing team.

Job responsibilities

An excellent candidate will have

  • Experience in manual and automation testing
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline or equivalent
  • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • 5+ years people management experience
  • Experience building a QA organization that is responsible for end-end validation for a critical system or application
  • Understanding of testing strategies including technologies for automated testing
  • Deep hands-on technical expertise
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Deep understanding of how to run quality assurance teams.
  • A deep understanding of automation strategies and solutions
  • Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions

  • 3+ years of experience managing Quality Assurance Teams
  • 1+ year of experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer
  • Experience managing automation testers

  • Experience in Mobile industry domain
  • Strong process definition and optimization skills; proven ability to define effective, efficient, and massively scalable processes for digital products and services
  • Strong organizational design and recruiting skills; proven ability to build large, high-performance teams
  • Strong people management skills; comfort leading and developing teams with 25 or more employees and 2 tiers of leads and managers under them
  • Excellent customer experience intuition; demonstrated success in delivering a world-class customer experience (ideally in the digital content industry)
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; strong bias towards data-based decision making and comfort with pro-forma financial and operational analysis
  • Excellent communication and persuasion skills; demonstrated success building buy-in for an innovative and bold vision
  • Technical fluency; comfort understanding and discussing architectural concepts, schedule tradeoffs and new opportunities with technical team members
  • Nimbleness and comfort with ambiguity; comfort responding quickly to rapidly evolving threats and opportunities
  • Strong bias for action; ability to juggle multiple priorities and create a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Street smart; willingness to roll up the sleeves and do whatever is necessary to meet team goals
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence versus direct management; excellent interpersonal skills
