Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with mission critical facilities, bidding, designing, commissioning, PLC/SCADA, from client/server HMIs and historians, to controller programming, instrumentation and input/output interfaces.
  • 10 years of experience with controls engineering for systems integration design, construction, and product development projects.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Scripting skills in C++, Java, Python, or similar in an industrial controls context.
  • Fluency in multiple PLC/SCADA packages as applied to critical cooling and/or power systems.
  • Knowledge of large-scale data centers' mechanical and/or electrical infrastructure systems.

  • Ability to work with embedded systems or with related Hardware/Software teams. Ability to work in teams and within a matrix organization.
  • Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally, up to 25% based on project requirements.

Our multidisciplinary engineering team provides engineering support in the design, construction, and operation of Google's data centers You have demonstrated design, construction and equipment operation and maintenance experience in the area of complex and mission critical facilities for North America/South America. You will be involved in the development of large scale facility monitoring and controls infrastructure from site assessments and concept design to greenfield construction, along with modification of existing infrastructures on global capital projects. You will provide and prepare all types of documents including: scope of work (SOW), concept designs, functional design specifications (FDS), drawing markup, total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, budget, schedule, system test and acceptance documents, and review and acceptance of builds and submittals.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teams to understand/develop data center monitoring and control system designs (basis of design, constructibility, infrastructure expansions and retrofits).
  • Manage all control system engineering issues during design, bidding, implementation, and testing. Identify and resolve issues raised by cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Generate controls engineering services and materials scope of work for infrastructure upgrades and product development.
  • Provide technical support to operations and PM (project managers) in resolving all of the BMS related issues.
  • Provide technical support to operations in resolving all related issues. Provide technical protocols and processes to manage and organize all of the critical field system operational data and provide critical data related to PUE, trends, and management summaries at a regular interval.
