Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Math, Statistics or Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in wholesale energy market contracts, market settlements, operations or trade management with wholesale renewable energy, including PPA contracts.
  • Experience building SQL based queries, creating dashboards and reports and converting data into information.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in quantitative field.
  • 10 years of wholesale electricity markets and structuring experience in multiple ISOs/regions.
  • Experience in Python.
  • Thorough understanding of applied and financial mathematics concepts and techniques.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and possess an ability to coordinate with energy experts and non-experts alike; lead projects requiring inputs from multiple teams.
  • Ability to proactively identify and provide solutions for analytical or process gaps for a fast growing portfolio.

As an Energy Contracts and Asset Manager you will help to ensure that Google's portfolio of energy agreements are delivering the value promised, you'll lead individual strategic initiatives and projects, and work with teams across the company in support of Google's data center portfolio and related infrastructure. In particular, you will focus on management of the global portfolio of energy contracts and renewable energy asset management. You possess substantial knowledge and experience working in the utility sector and renewable energy markets, in-depth expertise on energy market drivers, supply contracting and risk management, and strategic analytical skills, including energy contracts, in addition to consultation and collaboration capabilities with other business units, including Finance.


  • Ensure contractual performance metrics are being met for all Google energy agreements. Maintain dashboards and databases that track energy portfolio and commitments. Ensure data flows from projects are maintained, data entry is timely, data is of good quality, and active participation in data governance efforts.
  • Work closely with Energy Portfolio Manager and Energy Analysts to create analysis to support portfolio management transactions. Work with energy negotiators to track and develop potential new energy transactions.
  • Manage calculation of portfolio profit and loss, reporting and forecasting on energy portfolio performance and attribution, quantifying drivers of risk, etc.
  • Review market settlements, manage credit positions, guide accounts payable team to manage invoicing and PO approvals.
