The Role

The Business Development & Alliances team is responsible for helping accelerate the growth and monetization of Matterport by identifying, executing and managing partnerships and strategic initiatives in collaboration with product and other cross-functional teams.

Matterport is looking to hire a Director, Data Partnerships to play a critical role in developing and executing a partnership strategy focused on driving adoption and usage of our new products and services within key vertical markets. Our future business development teammate will be responsible for identifying, growing, and managing high-impact partnerships in the United States, while working closely with our international business development teammates to further scale strategy and partnerships globally.

The position can be remote in the U.S. while our headquarters are in Sunnyvale, California.

This position requires 50% travel, both domestically and internationally, during normal times, not during the pandemic.

Responsibilities

  • Identify the highest impact market opportunities for Matterport's data products within our existing key verticals and formulate a go to market strategy in collaboration with product, finance, sales and marketing teams.
  • Serve as a thought leader on key use cases for Matterport's data products, including understanding existing customer needs and potential growth with new customer segments.
  • Iteratively test and refine potential go to market approaches for value proposition messaging, pricing structures, use cases, customer support models, etc.
  • Own and be directly accountable for the company's annual bookings target for Matterport's data products, providing leadership with reliable forecasting.
  • Create deal structures that both capture partner/customer value and address partner/customer requirements around pricing and delivery of data, enabling scaled growth.
  • Develop and own a pipeline of customers and go to market partners and reliably close on said pipeline to drive bookings growth of Matterport data products.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in a technically related field; MBA or a JD is a plus.
  • 7+ years of business development experience at enterprise SaaS companies, with experience in the selling of data insights and analytics.
  • Technical background or technical acumen in data products and delivery, including as a platform product.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and adept at solving problems creatively. Can quickly pivot and adjust to evolving priorities.
  • Proven ability to operate in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment, providing thought leadership and market context to drive consensus and reach key decisions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to build strategy, frameworks around, and optimize partnerships using a metrics-driven approach.
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting term sheets and negotiating complex, multi-faceted, and sometimes first-in-kind partnerships.
  • Ability to financially model and project returns on new initiatives and efforts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
  • Strong personal initiative with proven ability to execute with little supervision and adapt to a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
