As the Senior Lead Systems Architect, you will play an important
role in evolving Mitel's UCaaS platform for meeting the needs of
customers worldwide. You will provide technical guidance to a
dynamic team working hard to enable applications and integrations
that delight our customers, while offering 99.999% availability.
You will get to tackle challenging problems in areas like
distributed systems, low-latency real-time media, large data
streams and IoT.
This position is located in Sunnyvale, CA only. US Citizenship
or Permanent Resident required.
Partner with the chief architect, product management and cloud
operations to establish broad technical goals
Define architectural improvements for evolving Mitel's UCaaS
platform on GCP and AWS
Stay up to date with the latest standards, technologies, open
source software and PaaS services relevant to us
Work closely with developers to evaluate different alternatives
and drive consensus
Document and communicate architectural decisions to ensure
Mentor developers on the best practices for building reliable,
scalable and secure real-time services
Drive constant improvements in automation, monitoring and API
Contribute to proof of concepts and write production code as
Lend your expertise for troubleshooting complex production
issues when required
10+ years of experience developing complex VoIP applications
10+ years of experience writing distributed multi-threaded
services in C/C++
5+ years in an architect role guiding large software development
5+ years of experience building and running a large-scale SaaS
Hands-on experience running production services on GCP and/or
Strong knowledge of networking, security and Linux internals
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and caches
Experience with message buses, stream data processing, data
warehousing and analytics
