Performance Foodservice is seeking a dedicated CDL A Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. As a key player in maintaining our reputation as a leading food distributor, the CDL A Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering food and food-related products to our diverse range of clients, including family-owned restaurants and nationwide chains. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our products arrive on time and in excellent condition, reflecting our commitment to exceptional service. Operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport and deliver goods in accordance with the schedule provided. Ensure all deliveries are made on time and the goods are in the condition expected by the client. Manage documentation related to cargo, routing, and delivery, maintaining accurate records compliant with company policies and regulatory requirements. Perform vehicle inspections before and after each journey to ensure that the truck is in good operating condition. Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations teams to report any issues or delays during the route. Adhere strictly to traffic laws and regulations governing the operation of large commercial vehicles. Strong driving skills and familiarity with road transport regulations Effective communication and time management skills Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physical tasks as needed Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair Good organizational skills for document and route management Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) A clean driving record DOT Medical Card
