Position Overview
OBJECTIVE:
Business intelligence developer will be responsible for enabling the company to make informed decisions based on data. The position falls under IT Data warehouse team and needs to ensure that all reporting aligns with the overall corporate strategy. This role will work closely with all departments to understand each of their business needs and enable them to analyze and make decision quicker. This begins with defining the need, documenting requirements and delivering business intelligence to the organization. In this role, you will also be responsible for managing many large and complex data sets. Need to ensure fast performance and best practices are applied.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Work with departmental stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and gather business requirements

* Work with ETL developers to define and build data sets for reporting integration, dashboards, data visualizations, data mining

* Investigate and tune reports for faster refresh times

* Implement data level security

* Provide information and analysis essential for planning and strategy development.

* Continuously identify processes to automate/eliminate reports by applying business process improvement and process reengineering to report development

* Communicate key process information, deadlines, task definition, etc, to all business users


REQUIRED SKILLS

* Ability to develop and manage large and complex databases with a user friendly interface for others to leverage.

* Must have the ability to develop, own and drive processes; complete complex analysis; successfully partner with other professionals; and have strong project management skills.

* Creative approach to problem solving and task automation

* Intermediate understanding of MS SQL

* Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as strong documentation, data management and analysis skills.

* Proficient with tableau


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

* MS Excel, MS Power Query

* MS Access, SQL, SSRS

* VBA

* SSIS or equivalent ETL tools

* Java ScriptVB Script
