Job Description Are you passionate about designing software solutions that enable complex user interfaces and user interactions? We are looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative product development environment and wants to push the boundaries of what is possible in surgical robotics today! Join our team of driven and dedicated software, computer vision and machine learning engineers to develop real-time sensing and perception technologies that support novel human machine interfaces for next-generation robot-assisted surgery platforms.The successful candidate must be able to apply domain expertise in a focused, small-team environment, and must have a solid record of accomplishment of optimizing computer vision technologies that have led to successful product launches. A strong sense of shared responsibility and shared reward is required.As part of the User Interaction Algorithms team, immediate responsibilities include:

  • Participating, leading and collaborating in the development and optimization of computer vision and machine learning based solutions for state-of-the-art user interfaces
  • Playing a central role in optimizing computation and memory-footprint of real-time video processing algorithms; developing performance profiling tools; including pipelining and smart scheduling of compute engines
  • Understanding, analyzing, profiling, and optimizing computer vision and deep learning training workloads on state-of-the-art hardware and software platforms
  • Understanding the big picture of training performance on GPU's and real time execution on an embedded compute platform, prioritizing and then solving problems across many dozens of state-of-the-art neural networks
  • Implementing production-quality software using DLA frameworks
  • Building tools to automate workload analysis, workload optimization, and other critical workflows
  • Evaluating performance improvements and regressions for future HW and SW upgrades
  • Studying and improving algorithm performance metrics that correlate with user experience, and that can be used to drive continuous improvement
  • Keeping current with software/hardware development efforts and understand overall trends in GPU/ML/AI technologies Qualifications
    • Bachelor's or Master's Degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Software/Computer Engineering, Applied Math, or related field
    • 5+ years of relevant experience developing and shipping high-performance real- time software products
    • Comfortable working at multiple levels of an integrated hardware/software
    • Experience with performance/power testing and CPU/GPU optimizations
    • Experience with CUDA and GPGPU techniques
    • Working knowledge of computer vision concepts including multi-view geometry, scene understanding, feature detection, and tracking is a plus
    • Experience with one of the major ML frameworks (i.e. PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.)
    • Excellent software design, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
    • Excellent understanding of data structures and algorithms
    • Experience with embedded programming of GPUs, Python, GNU, design pattern, OOP, and C/C++ programming
    • Experience with NVIDIA GPU platforms preferred
