team responsible for the operation and sustainment of the software
supporting the Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) telemetry
processing system in the auxiliary support center environment
(SASC). This position will support small to medium factory
infrastructure software development and integration projects across
development, production and sustainment domains responsible for
assigned task objectives as defined by technical leadership and
ensuring personal organization tasking remains on-track while
fulfilling hands-on software development responsibilities. Supports
planning, execution, and coordination of software development
activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs
software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to
business/mission problems or questions in computer language for
solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the
appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout
the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware
and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission
applications, information processing techniques used, and
information gathered from system users to develop software.
Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles
documentation of program development, and analyzes system
capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output
requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and
controls. Ensures software standards are met. Typically has 5-10
years of professional experience. Basic Qualifications: * Ability
to perform job duties independently with minimal supervision and
following defined priorities leading projects from inception to
completion ensuring cross organizational tasks remain on-track and
within schedule identifying and escalating cost/schedule impacts
* Ability to provide occasional 24x7 on-site support to mission
critical systems and user support.
* Recent coding experience with one or more of the following: Java,
Python, C++, Software as a Service (SaaS), Big Data Analytics (BDA)
tools and methodologies, container development/implementation.
Desired Skills: * Team player with strong interpersonal,
communications and writing skills, and the ability to work in a
* Experience working in a virtual environment using VMWare and/or
OpenStack to maintain operational platforms and a Continuous
Integration (CI) environment.
* Experience with the following tools: Maven 3.x, REST/JSON
frameworks, the Atlassian tool suite.
* Understand the application of Service Oriented Architectures
(SOA) to solve architecture problems.
* Experience developing applications that use software message
buses such as ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, or Kafka.
* Knowledge of the use of shell scripting for automation of
* Experience working with MySQL and MongoDB.
* Experience developing or maintaining User Interfaces with the
* Experience managing satellite telemetry data, including
decommutation and processing of incoming data, archival and
retrieval of data, and ensuring availability to end users.
* Expressed interest in validation and examination of 3rd party
