Stanford Cancer Center South Bay Location: Samaritan Drive, San

location. The Director of Cancer Center South Bay Clinic
Operations, in partnership with the Senior Director, Cancer
Network, provides strategic and operational leadership for
ambulatory cancer care clinics across the Stanford Cancer Network.
This role is accountable for the effective planning, personnel
management, operational performance, and financial oversight of
multiple clinics, programs, and cross-departmental initiatives to
ensure high-quality, cost-effective care and a safe, efficient work
environment. Leading through Patient Care Managers, Assistant
Clinic Operations Managers, and front-line staff, the Director
ensures that Stanford Health Care standards for clinical
excellence, patient experience, and operational reliability are met
across all assigned sites. The Director is responsible for the full
scope of clinic operations and business development for the
Stanford Healthcare Cancer Network. Working collaboratively with
the Vice President of Cancer Destination Service Line, the
Executive Director of Radiation Oncology and Cancer Network, the
Senior Director, Cancer Network, and the Medical Director of Cancer
Center South Bay, the Director identifies and advances new programs
and growth opportunities across the DSL Cancer Network. Key focus
areas include program planning and implementation, operational and
financial performance monitoring, budget development, and
continuous quality and performance improvement activities aligned
with organizational goals. The Director functions with significant
independence and is accountable for designing, implementing, and
evaluating programs, projects, and initiatives that advance the
mission and strategic priorities of the SHC Cancer Network. The
Director will be responsible for supporting clinics and programs
across the Cancer DSL Network as needed and maintaining cancer
program database in a manner that meets standards for CoC and QOPI.
A Brief Overview The Director-Clinic Operations participates fully,
with the Vice President - Ambulatory Care Services - in providing
management and leadership of the ambulatory care clinics and is
accountable, with assistance from Clinic Managers and other lower
level staff, for the effective strategic planning, and the
personnel, operational, and financial management of multiple
assigned clinic(s), program(s) and/or project(s) that cross
multiple departments and/or services, to ensure optimal quality,
cost-effective service/outcomes, and a safe and efficient work
environment. The Director-Clinic Operations provide management and
leadership to multiple ambulatory care clinics, this position is
responsible for the total operation and business development of the
Stanford Medical Outpatient Center located off-site in Redwood
City. In collaboration with the Vice President, identifies and
pursues new business development opportunities for the Ambulatory
Division. This position acts in the absence of the Vice President
for Ambulatory Care with full authority to carry out all
responsibilities. The Director has total responsibility for
operations in assigned clinics. Key functions of the position
include most or all of the following: program planning,
development, and implementation; program monitoring and evaluation;
budget planning and monitoring; and quality and performance
improvement to achieve organizational/departmental goals. The
Director assumes full responsibility with considerable independence
planning, designing, implementing and evaluating programs,
projects, studies or other work for a major component of Ambulatory
Care services. What you will do Defines performance objectives and
metrics for the department and assesses the level of competence of
staff in a timely manner. Continuously assesses and improves
departments performance based on "customer"needs; directs and
participates in improving performance and services which benefit
staff, patients and other customers. Collaborates with Clinic
Managers to assist them and to maintain appropriate quality control
programs in response to internal standards of care and external
requirements. Develops and implements policies and procedures that
guide and support the provision of services and which meet the
external regulatory and statutory requirements; ensures that
policies and procedures are compatible with the function and goals
of the hospital and clinics. Monitors and assures compliance with
regulatory agencies, JCAHO accrediting, and hospital policy for
patient services and environmental and personnel safety. Ensure
effective fiscal management of the department and ensures the
proper utilization of organizations financial resources. Develops a
department budget within designated deadlines according to all
budgetary policies and procedures. Monitors budgets and takes
corrective action when necessary, including administrative cost
centers. Recommends ways to reduce expenditures and enhance
revenues without compromising quality of services. Establishes
programs and goals that promote the delivery of quality care and
service in conjunction with managers. Facilitates coordination of
integration of services within Ambulatory Care Clinics and with
other departments by continually collaborating with other managers.
Collaborates with clinic managers and others to develop, evaluate,
and adjust organizational structures and systems to meet business
needs/goals/mission in the most efficient and economical manner.
Responsible for developing and implementing mechanisms and
relationships that create alignment along economic, clinical
delivery, service quality, and patient safety dimensions. Follows
SHS safety and Infection Prevention guidelines, policies and
procedures for self, patients, visitors and employees. Interprets
and enforces Infection Prevention and Safety policies. Works
collaboratively with Infection Prevention to implement policies in
Ambulatory Care. Manages Human Resources (HR) to ensure quality
services and promote employee relations. Oversees the hiring,
orientation, training, scheduling, and supervision of all other
staff. Reviews personnel performance evaluations submitted by
managers and initiates personnel actions, such as merit increases,
promotions, transfers, disciplinary action, and terminations.
Plans, organizes, coordinates, and directs all patient care and
non-patient care functions within the division to achieve
objectives and comply with regulatory requirements. Communicates
the hospitals mission, vision, and values, as well as departmental
goals, to all staff. Attains all agreed to goals and objectives
within specified time frames, as part of the organizations overall
mission. Responsible for identifying new business develop
opportunities for the Ambulatory Care Services Division. Promotes
effective working relations and works effectively as part of a
department team inter- and intra-departmentally to facilitate the
departments ability to meet its goals and objectives. Effectively
communicates departmental, organizational, and industrial
information to staff. Provides leadership and guidance to other
leaders and staff in goal setting, problem solving, resource
management, and outcome achievement. Ensures there are adequate
ongoing educational programs and training opportunities for all
staff in area of responsibility, including orientation of new
employees and relevant in-service education sessions.
Qualifications Bachelors degree in a work-related discipline/field
from an accredited college or university Ten (10) years of
progressively responsible and directly related work experience
managing and leading programs, work units or departments of
comparable size, scope and complexity License and Certifications:

$132.51 per hour The salary of the finalist selected for this role
will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not
