Pathologist (SLP)/nJob Summary:/nSpeech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with speech, language,
voice, and fluency disorders. The ideal candidate will have a
strong background in communication sciences and a passion for
helping individuals improve their communication skills and overall
quality of life./n/nKey Responsibilities:/nEvaluate patients’
speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing
abilities./n/nDevelop and implement individualized treatment
plans./n/nProvide direct therapy services to individuals with
speech, language, or swallowing disorders./n/nCollaborate with
physicians, teachers, psychologists, and other professionals to
develop effective treatment strategies./n/nDocument patient
progress and adjust therapy plans as needed./n/nEducate patients,
family members, and caregivers on treatment techniques and
strategies./n/nMaintain accurate and timely records in compliance
with healthcare regulations./n/nUse specialized equipment and
techniques to treat communication and swallowing
disorders./n/nParticipate in interdisciplinary team meetings and
contribute to overall patient care plans./n/nStay up-to-date with
research and advancements in the field of speech-language
pathology./n/nRequired Qualifications:/nMaster’s degree in
Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited
program./n/nCertificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language
Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing
Association (ASHA), or eligibility to obtain./n/nState-specific
license or certification (as required)./n/nExcellent communication,
organizational, and interpersonal skills./n/nAbility to work
independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team./n/nPreferred
Qualifications:/nExperience in educational, clinical, or
rehabilitation settings./n/nBilingual or multilingual
abilities./n/nKnowledge of augmentative and alternative
communication (AAC) systems./n/nLicensing & Certification
Requirements by State:/nAll 50 U.S. states require Speech-Language
Pathologists to be licensed or certified to practice. General
requirements include:/n/nA master’s degree in speech-language
pathology./n/nCompletion of a clinical fellowship (typically 9
months of supervised professional practice)./n/nPassing the Praxis
Exam in Speech-Language Pathology./n/nCompletion of continuing
