The Electrical Engineering team within Reality Labs is seeking an Electrical Engineer with focus on development platform & NTI form factor board design, bring-up, test and system power optimization. The candidate will be working in a cross-functional collaborative environment driving product architecture from the early and ambiguous phase of product from concept to production. We are seeking a self-starter and a team player who can thrive in a dynamic environment. Communication and organizational skills and the ability to multitask across various disciplines and tasks are a must.

Electrical Engineer, Platform, Reality Labs Responsibilities:

• Designing development and/or form factor boards for validation of early product architecture with focus on supporting SW/FW bring-up, power optimization, NTI explorations, and system characterization for OTS SOC or Custom Silicon or NTI prototypes
• Characterize power consumption, battery run time and work closely with cross-functional teams on power optimizations for each of the product use cases
• Characterize system behavior in peak power scenarios for battery-powered products. Designing schematics, completing board layouts, assembling, testing, debugging, and integrating designs into electro-mechanical systems
• Collaborating closely with external vendors on transforming their reference designs into custom solutions
• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
• Working autonomously and taking initiative to manage priorities
• Incubating new technologies into high volume production
• Collaborating with our manufacturing partners domestically and overseas
  
  Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent industry work experience
  • 3+ years of experience on EE design and low voltage power design in consumer electronics or related fields
  • Industry experience with working on schematic and board design using Cadence OrCAD, Allegro, Altium or equivalent
  • Familiar with use of oscilloscopes, high speed digital test equipment, logic analyzers, and function generators
  • Experience working with one of these technologies: digital signal processing, real-time image processing, display engineering, sensing system, camera modules, mobile SoC and PMIC, or Battery Management System
  • Experience with Power optimization working with cross-functional teams for battery powered products
  • Experience leading technical teams, cross-functional groups and vendors against project plans
    
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • MS or PHD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering 5+ years of industry experience
    • Experience with high speed signaling over DP, MIPI, HDMI, and USB SS
    • Experience with IMUs/sensor physical sensor systems
    • Experience with audio system design and characterization
    • Experience programming in languages like Python
    • Experience with circuit design in high speed circuits, FPGAs, microcontrollers, microprocessors, firmware, and programmable logic based development
    • Consumer Electronics experience and/or working within a mass production environment
