Excellent opportunity to be part of the Northrop Grumman Mission
Systems Human Resources team leadership team. The selected
candidate will be a Manager, Labor Relations in Sunnyvale, CA. The
individual will be expected to be a strategic partner and
consultant to help build organizational capability to meet
financial and strategic goals. The selected candidate will be the
focal point to assist in the development and implementation of HR
strategy, programs and policies for the business unit; including
talent identification, performance management, employee relations,
compensation, reward and recognition, succession planning,
organization and staff development, leadership/bench strength
development, staffing, etc.
Candidate must have recognized leadership success and have a
demonstrated ability to influence peers and all levels of
management. Position requires HR labor relations experience with
respect to preparing for and advising on matters pertaining to
contract negotiation, grievance cases, arbitrations, conciliations,
federal and state labor legislation, etc. Project management,
interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills, business acumen,
and problem solving skills
required. Candidate must be flexible and a progressive thinker with
a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects/tasks from
inception to completion in a changing environment.
The selected candidate must be able to help leaders meet the needs
of the business and satisfy compliance and policy requirements.
Candidate must have demonstrated success in strong
people-leadership skills / competencies with an ability to help
employees connect their efforts to the bigger picture, create an
inclusive work environment characterized by mutual respect and the
valuing of differences, and build a culture that balances caring
and accountability and motivate employees to their highest levels
Candidate may be required to travel up to 10", sometimes with short
notice in support of the business.
--- Bachelor's degree required plus a minimum of 10 years of
experience in HR, with experience in Labor Relations
--- Position requires HR Labor Relations experience with contract
negotiations, grievance cases, arbitrations, and conciliations.
--- Demonstrated knowledge of employment law and working knowledge
of HR policies and practices
--- Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
--- Experience leading cross-functional projects to completion
including organizing, prioritizing, planning, scheduling and
following up on all project related items.
--- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated
ability to effectively communicate with and influence others
--- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to be flexible
and change directions when needed
--- Ability to work independently and make independent decisions,
ensuring high levels of collaboration with stakeholders and subject
