Job Description:
Factory Operations Managers are confident leaders capable of
driving successful execution of challenging product goals at our
contract manufacturing partners.The US Factory Operations team,
manages and reports on day-to-day activities at our contract
manufacturing partners primarily based in the Americas.As a key
member of the Operations team, this role closely partners with
advanced manufacturing engineering, supplier quality, test
engineering, logistics, trade compliance, legal and provides early
and ongoing manufacturing support to ensure success of our contract
manufacturing partners from concept through mass production to end
of life. The main focus is successful launch of high-quality
products in a cost competitive way, and with the focused
responsiveness to ensure product availability in the channels on
time, every time. Ideal candidates are those who have rich
experience with high volume mass production background in consumer
electronics industry. Candidates must have solid background with
manufacturing processes. This must also be complemented with strong
interpersonal and communication skills, keen focus on driving
business results, ability to work in ambiguous environments, and
strong willingness to collaborate and optimize overall business
objectives.This team is responsible for all things related to
factory management including and not limited to factory bring up
and production reporting, supporting warehouse set up, material
flow and pack out for ongoing success of our Final Assembly, Test,
and Packout Facilities (FATP), while ensuring partner compliance
with our launch volumes, quality, reliability and social
responsibility.Factory Operations Manager ResponsibilitiesWorking
with our contract manufacturing partners to design and layout the
FATP facility by applying lean and Six Sigma principles. This will
be done in collaboration with other cross-functional teams.Ensuring
partners are applying state-of-the-art quality practices at FATP,
including incoming components and modules.Driving yield and UPH
improvements with our partners and in collaboration with other
cross-functional teams.Driving cost and cycle time reductions with
our partners and in collaboration with other cross-functional
teams.Driving ramp and MP readiness.Execution to Product
Development Process and all associated Phase Gates.Develop
manufacturing processes at the factory and drive line
qualifications by working with cross-functional teams and CM
partners.Drive cost and cycle time reduction through line
balancing, and line automation.Drive FACA (Failure Analysis
Corrective Action) and yield bridge to mass production with our
partners and other cross-functional teams.Influence product
manufacturability, testability, serviceability, reliability,
flexibility and cost effectiveness by coordinating cross-functional
teams during early development and ramp.Demonstrate experience to
bring up capability and talent at US contract manufacturing
locations.Labor development and management through production
cycles and understanding of local labor laws to facilitate
responsible labor sourcing and development practices.Ability to
frequently travel within continental US and Mexico, with some
travel to Asia Pacific region.Minimum Qualifications8+ years of
experience in Operations engineering activities.Demonstrated
technical skills and experience, including a detailed understanding
of Final Assembly, Test, Pack and SMT processes.Solid background
best-in-class practices at Contract Manufactures for supply
management, production planning, documentation control and
escalations as necessary.Experience operating in dynamic,
fast-paced, factory based environment with minimal
supervision.Fluent in English and experience communicating at
executive level.Experience in using process driven and analytical
approaches to problem-solving (Six Sigma, 8D, FMEA, etc.).Knowledge
of data analysis and statistics and experience presenting data
driven recommendations.Proven project management experience
(Planning, Cost, & Delivery).Proven interpersonal and communication
skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience with
transfer/set-up/qualify manufacturing in different
areas/regionExperience with automated system bring up and
qualificationExperience with data analysis using JMPExperience with
GD&T & tolerance analysisExperience with optical systems and or
Clean room setupExperience with facility bring up and construction
management including commercial building permitsExperience with
