Together, let's advance the world of minimally invasive care.Primary Function of PositionWork on VR robotic surgical simulation games that are used by surgeons around the world to improve their robotic surgical skills. Join a team in collaboration that's part of an organization that works every day to make progress on making a difference in the world.We are seeking a Game Director to lead our surgical simulation game design efforts. This team is on mission to deliver high quality, highly effective VR robotic simulation content in the surgical environment on Windows OS.The successful candidate will have clearly demonstrable stories of leadership and self-awareness, in addition to Unity software development workflow design for scalable teams.MUST HAVESThis position is a leadership position within our team, so you will need to demonstrate clear, detailed examples of the following to be considered as a viable candidate:Servant Leadership"-- - -a leader's role is to clear a path for the team's success towards its objective to support the business missionSelf-awareness"-- - -the strongest leaders don't run from the truth, and our own truths are the toughest to face, so bring stories of how you faced yourself to transcendDeveloping Others"-- - -no team is perfect, and continuous improvement of self and support of others' development is a critical element to make sure we're all learning to improve and not re-treading the same mistakesThese are non-negotiable, so if you feel you have what it takes to engage in a thoughtful discussion of your experiences in all of these areas, read on and apply!Roles and ResponsibilitiesYou will lead and manage our learning architects/engineers to ensure on-time delivery of game design documents, game learning objectives and goals, as well as, development of user studies and data processing from the user studiesYou will be responsible for ensuring simulation learning products are both effective at meeting/exceeding learning objectives and learner engagement metrics, as well as uphold a high quality and engaging interactive experienceYou will coach, guide, and critique game design through all the product development cycles, from concepting, prototyping, testing, art integration, production, and revisionsOwn the game design vision, language, and architecture for simulation products creating a system of scalability that materially impacts our customers' learning needsOwn the master dashboard for learning efficacy metricsDocument and maintain the evolving game design and interactive language for simulation learning products as the single source of truth to ground ongoing and future product workGuide, coach, and train the development of those responsible for game level designGuide, coach, and train the development of the learning architects/engineersCollaborate and motivate engineering, art development, product development leadership, UX, and human factors engineering partners to create, implement, and iterate on product design needsTriage resource and priority collisionsPreemptively communicate pivots in game plan, execution, and team direction with engineering leadershipWork with management and leadership to adapt the team workflow and model through upcoming phases of changeSet example to others through your own behavior to others for leadership, accountability, tenacity, and adaptivenessMinimum RequirementsMinimum 5 years game design experience in the gaming industry, with minimum of 2 years in a game director position working on published titles and 2 years of experience working on VR titlesExceptionally strong critique, coaching, and guidance skills"-- - -you will need to demonstrate crisp articulation of observations and framing in communication that is actionable for the receiving audienceDemonstrated knowledge of gamification and game mechanics that enhance user engagement and gamer joyDemonstrated collaboration with creative design partners to support the delivery of coherent, impactful, and scalable visual design languageDemonstrated ability to work with engineering team to jointly prioritize engineering tasks for the support of a high quality end-productDemonstrated ability to engage in directing a geographically distributed teamExperience delivering to market published game titlesDemonstrated adaptability and flexibility in working with an evolving workflowFluent experience using JIRA, Confluence, Slack"-- - -in addition to the usual suite of office softwarePortfolio of game titles published for reviewPassion for playing gamesBonus CharacteristicsExperience identifying resource gaps and articulating to senior management for year-over-year budgetary planningExperience in developing game performance KPI's that materially impact product feature development and pivot decisionsCreative problem solverMinimum BA/BS preferredDue to the nature of our business and the role, please note that Intuitive and/or your customer(s) may require that you show current proof of vaccination against certain diseases including COVID-19.
