Job Description

LinkedIn's Data Infrastructure team is responsible for building and operating a majority of LinkedIn's high-scale, high-performance, stateful systems for storage, streams, and graph. The team is focused on supporting LinkedIn's accelerating growth by building new capabilities across the portfolio, scaling efficiently with emphasis on automation, and playing a key role in driving LinkedIn's migration to Azure.

A successful candidate will be an integral member of LinkedIn's Engineering leadership team and key contributor to the future success of the business and LinkedIn. This individual will be a strong thought leader in the technology space, with the ability to build and execute at scale, and an inspirational people leader, overseeing a large team of engineers solving big problems.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:
Acts as a role model of LinkedIn's culture and values.
Inspire, lead, and grow a 200+ world-class engineering organization; Hire world class engineering talent and provide technical guidance, career development, and mentorship.
Play a leading role in the planning and execution of ongoing efforts for the organization based on the company's long-term priorities and strategies to rapidly grow and setting the strategy and roadmap for Data Infrastructure at LinkedIn.
Be a strong advocate for users and partners to enable their success.
Sustain a culture of strong craftsmanship in the work the team does while continuing to display strong execution and a bias for action.
Ensure the organization has the skillset, bandwidth, and capability to support LinkedIn's expanding product features for LinkedIn's consumer facing product.
Experience building, operating, and scaling large scale distributed systems.
Experience building systems with significant levels of automation and minimal human intervention at extreme scale.

Basic Qualifications:
B.A./B.S. degree or higher, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of software engineering management.
4+ years experience in data infrastructure, building and operating large scale system databases, storage, streaming, indexing technologies, etc..

Preferred Qualifications

Experience sizeable teams, with experience managing through other senior leaders.
Passion for working with data at scale.
Hands on experience of developing large scale distributed systems/databases (or other high scale data systems).
Held VP-level roles at consumer technology companies/cloud hosted infrastructure companies.
Experience attracting, retaining, and developing top engineering and operations talent throughout the industry.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
