This position can be based remotely in the United States #LI-Remote About the Role: Matterport is looking for a seasoned, innovative Director, Communications with a track record of success to drive our global communications strategy to elevate awareness, understanding, and affinity for the Matterport brand. Working closely with the Matterport Executive Leadership you will develop and execute a global strategy that tells the story of how Matterport is leading the digital transformation of the built world. You will focus on building a groundbreaking communications strategy that is agile enough to respond to current trends, while clear enough to drive long-term category leadership.--As the Director, Communications, you will lead our team across every region, including our agencies to develop the right strategies for each geographic region. This means working closely with our regional General Managers and Marketing teams to execute strategies that further our narrative for verticals, countries, and categories in which Matterport seeks to be a leader.--A key to success will be accountability around results, which includes both the Matterport team as well as our agencies. This means creating the right strategy with the team to drive performance throughout all our communication programs with clarity, focus, and energy. As Matterport scales across the world, quality, accountability, and alignment become critical factors in driving a global movement.--The Communications team at Matterport includes PR, social, and analyst relations, and your responsibility will be to drive excellence across these disciplines through smart and creative storytelling.--The Communications team is responsible for all our media relations, executive communications, corporate communications, media training, and is the connective tissue between our product, marketing, sales, investor relations, and executive functions to ensure our efforts and impact are fully integrated and our messages are spread far and wide. This team also works closely with human resources to ensure that internal communications are aligned.The AR team leads Matterport's efforts in working with industry analysts from all the major firms including Gartner, Forrester, and IDC to influence their perceptions of Matterport and to ensure that they are up-to-date on all things related to Matterport. This includes soliciting feedback and input on plans and strategy as well as roadmap and investments. The social media team leads the creation of timely and relevant social media strategies and content across all major social platforms relevant to each geography to drive awareness of the Matterport brand among new users, while also engaging and educating existing customers.As the Director, Communications, you will be a core member of the Marketing leadership teams, and partner closely with other functional leads across the business to drive consistently impressive results for Matterport. What you will do:

• Create and deliver an essential global communications plan that leads to long-term brand building and business goals, which emcompasses public relations, social media, analyst relations, and content strategy.
• Develop a brilliant strategy and ensure optimal execution of new communications-driven initiatives that build brand awareness and meet business goals, both short- and long-term.
• Manage and continuously optimize our communications budget, including driving value from agency relationships in all key regions and markets globally.
• Measure and report on communications' contribution to company-wide goals, as well as driving the success of communications initiatives at the micro-level.
• Be a key driver of how we amplify and advance our reputation with key external stakeholders including customers and industry peers.
• Partner with senior leaders across the company to make sure communications are in lockstep with and fully utilizes product initiatives and go-to-market programs for maximum impact.
• Be a critical member of our Marketing Leadership team, and provide strategic communications counsel to both our C-staff and senior leadership at all levels. Who you are:
  • 10+ years demonstrated ability in a leadership position within communications, public relations, and marketing strategy in a global capacity.
  • Expertise in defining and crafting business positioning, and managing company messaging through considerable growth and expansion.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a high-performance, globally distributed team.
  • Experience partnering and scaling efforts with global and regional agencies and strategic partners.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • An excellent storyteller who can mentor and train others.
  • Analytical-minded to understand and measure impact of communication initiatives for maximum outcomes.
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong work ethic, and a passion to build and run a diverse team across the world.
  • Demonstrated experience building and developing teams in a fast paced dynamic environment.
