Job Summary As an SSD Commodity Manager for NetApp you as part of a team that is responsible to support strategic sourcing and supply base of SSD products and suppliers for NetApp. Ensure continued cost reduction and supply continuity. Drive strategies for product, roadmap, supplier, and sourcing to enable industry competitive/best TQRDC while enabling/executing continued process improvements. Cultivate and grow strategic supplier relationships across the company and vertically from working level to executive level. Work cross-functionally and vertically to educate, collaborate, drive changes, execute cost savings and NPI plans for company success as it directly and indirectly pertains to SSD commodity. What are the key strategic objectives related to this area of the business needed over the next two to three years?

• Drive continued SSD cost savings while ensuring supply continuity - SSD spend and savings are important to NetApp's margins.
• Build and manage strategic supplier relationships to achieve early technology access, strategic pricing, high priority and mindshare, and special value-add engagements despite our smaller size compared to our competitors (i.e. FTM partnerships, priority samples, advanced technology POC's, special business opportunities and pricing deals, etc)
• Work cross-functionally within NetApp and with our suppliers to drive leading edge roadmap alignment, product support, qualifications, continued process improvements, and ensure NetApp releases new products both on time and competitively as well as ensure all ongoing revenue bookings are supported. Enable/Enforce best in class TQRDC. Job Requirements
  • Collaborate across NetApp Operations, BU's and Suppliers to deliver an all-encompassing SSD Commodity Strategy
  • Drive continued cost reductions, enable new/creative methods and processes, execute strong negotiations for SSD's
  • Ensure supply continuity, risk mitigation and inventory management for SSD's
  • Create and implement SSD supplier and sourcing strategies for the company
  • Escalation point for SSD related topics
  • Educate, escalate up to NetApp execs and Supplier execs as necessary about SSD market
  • Influence SSD roadmap, processes and drive change cross functionally for the company success Education
    • Experience in SSD commodity management/strategic sourcing
    • Experience in SSD supply base management
    • Experience in storage and working cross functionally
    • Strong negotiation skills, experience with supplier negotiations, contracts, agreements, etc.
    • Proven track record in implementing new/revised processes, executing supplier contracts, agreements, etc. Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 year experience; or equivalent experience.
