Northrop Grumman Marine Systems, a historical campus in Sunnyvale, CA, specializes in the development, manufacturing, assembly and testing of missile launching and handling systems, propulsion and power generation systems for naval surface ships and submarines. Our products are built nowhere else in the country. We are seeking an Operations Principal Manufacturing Analyst/Industrial Engineer to join our team supporting a low volume, high-mix manufacturing environment. This individual will be working primarily as a Resource Planner and secondary as Industrial Engineering (IE) Support for the Operations department. This individual will be working closely with program office, finance, engineering, operations, and IE peers. In addition, this individual will be presenting data to Directors, Process Area Managers, Program Office, and other Managers regularly, therefore excellent presentation and communication skills are a must. Responsibilities include the following: * Develop resource requirement plans for backlog and new business opportunities. * Determine resource requirements by process area using EACs and IMS/SAP dates. * Perform what-if scenarios based on program timing changes, material availability and capacity. * Perform AOP Strategic Planning; work force demographics, training strategies and alternative program demand scenarios. * Perform bi-weekly variance analyses using Earned Value Management System (EVMS) * Perform monthly sensitivity resource and hours analyses * Perform quarterly comprehensive resource and hours analyses * Conduct Bi-Weekly, monthly and quarterly meetings with Directors, Process Area Managers, Program Office, and other Managers * Conduct analyses to streamline production Basic Qualifications: * Bachelors degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline and 5 years of relevant work experience; or Masters degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of relevant work experience * Experience with budget forecasting and resource planning * Experience with ERP Systems (SAP preferred) * Excel proficiency, including macros, vlookup, and pivot tables * Power Point proficiency * Experience presenting to senior management * Familiar with data analyses and statistical methods * Ability to obtain a Secret clearance Preferred Qualifications: * Familiarity with the manufacturing components utilized by the United States Navy in their submarines and surface ships. * Understanding of development of Resource Planning Packages and appropriate staffing levels based on budget goals, program demand, and yield/rate goals. * Understand capacity planning; develop what if program demand scenarios. * Understanding of labor and support labor relationships * Concise communication, planning, and organizational skills * Strong interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills, a team player * Sound reasoning and mathematical skills including an understanding of learning curve theories * Understanding of recurring and non-recurring manufacturing labor processes and statements of work * Ability to design, update, and implement new cost reports and/or models * Basic understanding of Risk Management, Continuous Improvement, Labor Learning impacts. * APICS CPIM * MBA Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
