You will support the manufacturing and testing of marine propulsion and power generations systems working on various manufacturing processes for high value gearing and steam turbine assemblies, machined components, and welded fabrications. These processes include precision manual assembly, welding, machining, bonding, finishing and mechanical assembly.What You'll get to Do:Develop new processes, improve existing manufacturing processes, and develop the required tooling and fixtures with an excellent team of experienced assembly mechanics, machinists, welders and engineers.Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the manufacturing environment.Develop efficient process flows and sequences of operations, optimized production area layouts, manage bills of materials, create detailed work instructions, process procedures and tooling requirements with emphasis on safety, foreign object elimination and equipment/system maintenance.Support continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of new capital equipment for establishing expanded production processes.Select roles will also support final acceptance testing of product and provide technical support to test facility operation as necessary.The ability to support multiple production shifts is required (first, second, third shifts, and weekends) based on the assignment and current and future production schedules.Swing shift start time at 1:00pm.This position can be filled at a level Principal Manufacturing Engineer or Sr. Principal Manufacturing Engineer.MANUMSSNYVLCDIVSEBasic Qualifications Principal Manufacturing Engineer:Bachelor's in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology Engineering or Math) with 5+ years of relevant work experience; Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of experience.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.Exposure or specialization in any or all of the following: mechanical assembly processes, welding and machining.Experience in continuous improvement.Experience in technical writing.Ability to obtain Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship.Basic Qualifications Sr. Principal Manufacturing Engineer:Bachelor's in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology Engineering or Math) with 9+ years of relevant work experience; Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 7+ years of relevant work experience; PhD with 0+ relevant years of relevant experience.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.Exposure or specialization in any or all of the following: mechanical assembly processes, welding and machining.Experience in continuous improvement.Experience in technical writing.Ability to obtain Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship.Preferred Qualifications:Secret Clearance.Exposure to propulsion and power plant machinery or experience building large equipment structures.GDT Control Plan Development and ExecutionExperience utilizing a modern ERP systemManufacturing equipment, product testing and facility operational experience.Experience leading technical projects requiring project planning, scheduling, resource identification and financial management.Experience with new product introduction.Experience with applying Lean Six Sigma principles on low volume, high mix processes.Experience leading technical projects requiring project planning, scheduling, resource identification and financial management.Installation of New Equipment and or Processing in a highly controlled environmentA basic understanding of Materials and Heat Treatment of MaterialsSalary Range: $95,000 USD - $142,400 USDSalary Range 2: $117,700 USD - $176,500 USDEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
