MechanicalNorthrop Grumman Marine systems is seeking an on site
Swing Shift (1pm to 9pm) mechanical engineer to participate in the
development and ongoing support of new and existing steam turbine
designs used in surface ship and submarine propulsion and power
generation systems for the US Navy. Must be able to apply
engineering principles and industry practice in the design of
assigned turbine components and subsystems. Must be able to develop
design concepts, perform trade studies, and conduct supporting
evaluations and analyses. Will participate in detail design,
drawing development, design reviews, release for manufacture, and
follow through test and production phases. Will prepare and present
formal technical briefings as required.This position focuses on
rotating machinery design and general design engineering, including
ship and submarine propulsion and power generation systems
involving steam turbines, gearboxes and generator sets. Activities
include developing new designs from concept, thru detailed design,
manufacture and test phases. Job requirements also include
supporting manufacturing activities on existing production
contracts.Basic Qualifications T3:Bachelor of Science degree in a
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) discipline
with 5 or more years engineering experience; Masters of Science
degree in a STEM discipline with 3 or more years of
experienceAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level
security clearance is requiredComputer skills including developing
designs using solid modeling software, such as CREO/NX is
required.A working knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 drawing standards and
geometric tolerance is also necessaryExcellent communication skills
and the ability to work in an interactive group environment are
essentialMust be fluent in mechanical engineering principles, and
must be proficient in developing design concepts, performing
trades-studies, and conducting supporting evaluations and
analysesPreferred Qualifications:Knowledge in GD&T and solid
modeling NXCurrent active DoD Secret clearanceBasic Qualifications
for a Level 4:Bachelors of Science degree in a STEM (Science,
Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) discipline with 9 or more
years engineering experience; Masters of Science degree in a STEM
discipline with 7 or more years' experienceAbility to obtain a DoD
Secret Clearance is required.Computer skills including developing
designs using solid modeling software such as ProE, is required.A
working knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 drawing standards and geometric
tolerance is also necessary.Excellent communication skills and the
ability to work in an interactive group environment are
essential.Must be fluent in mechanical engineering principles, and
must be proficient in developing design concepts, performing
trades-studies, and conducting supporting evaluations and
analyses.Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security
clearance.Preferred Qualifications:Masters degree in Engineering
Discipline.2 years' experience in rotating machinery.Local
candidates preferred.Salary Range: $95,000 USD - $142,400 USDSalary
Range 2: $117,700 USD - $176,500 USDEmployees may be eligible for a
discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are
designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow
employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President
or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In
