Job Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled senior Platform Engineer with 9+ years of experience to manage our development and QA lab environment at Fortinet. Our product is based on micro-services architecture, and we provide security in virtualized environments, both on-prem as well as on the cloud platforms. In this role we are expecting knowledge of DevOps tools, strong background in Linux system administration and knowledge in networking and server grade hardware. Required:

• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Software Engineering
• Comfortable with advanced shell scripting.
• Linux admin knowledge. We expect the candidate to maintain services like bind(DNS), ntp, dhcp/bootp and then IPv4/IPv6/Bonding changes etc
• Proficient in python programming.
• Have a good understanding of Makefile
• Excellent knowledge of Jenkins/git , especially Jenkins pipelines and Groovy programming.
• Hardware hands on knowledge.
  • Changing disks, diagnose system failures, flash firmware
  • Maintain switches(fan replacements) and wiring...
  • Have a good understanding of VSphere/VMware -technology
    • Knowledge on a VLAN level is pretty much a must here along the switches..
    • Bonus if you know how to upgrade and maintain a box on ESX CLI level. Bonus
      • Knowledge: Veeam, QNAP, KVM/Qemu, Dell/HP Hardware, Cisco/Netgear/HPE Switches
      • Fortinet product knowledge
      • Windows Admin Knowledge
        • User maintenance, along DNS configuration etc.
        • Lower level block device usage on linux(parted/dmsetup/luks)
        • Knowledgeable in Docker (vxlan/overlay/swarm/etc) technologies
        • Certifications in one or more of the above technologies is a plus. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $130,000-$180,000.
