We've been growing fast and need someone to help us continue to manage the delivery of high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.See more at freshconsulting.comVisit freshconsulting.com/portfolio to see our project work across several industries.View and apply to all jobs - https://freshconsulting.applytojob.com/apply/ or visit freshconsulting.com/careers**Candidate must be a U.S person to meet export control compliance requirements**Title: Materials Database EngineerDuration: 6 months with possible extensionLocation: Onsite Sunnyvale, CABenefits: Employee benefits at 100% including Medical, PTO, Holiday Pay, 401K Plan, and much more!Hours: Minimum 40 Hours/WeekRole:-In this role, you will work on developing a materials database to be used for all materials in the organization.-Gather technical datasheet and SDS information on materials and upload them to the database.-Communicating with vendors to acquire information.-Data transcription and developing tools to automate data scrubbing from multiple sources.-Administer and maintain database security, integrity, and optimization.-Maintain system licenses and subscription libraries-Coordinate with PLM & CAD administrators to sync materials data.-Develop Python scripts to automate syncing different database sources.-Work with IT dept. to troubleshoot system issues and maintain the server.-Maintain user access permissions. (Windows AD experience a plus)-Update database landing pages. (HTML or JSON a plus)-Develop and run periodic reports requested by materials engineers, simulation, and product design teams.-Identify and resolve issues, improve database reliability, and error-check content.-Maintain associated data in the database.Skills:-2+ years of work experience.-Experiencing with enterprise-level information management systems. (e.g. laboratory information management software (LIMS), PLM, ERP, etc.)-Experience with data analysis, database creation, database maintenance (error debug), usage reports, and data filtering.-Knowledge of materials and properties. (e.g. plastics, composites, magnets, metal, and alloys)Preferred Skills:-Experience programming with Matlab or Python APIs to automate data processing and collection.-Experience with developing specifications and knowledge databases within hardware organizations.-Experience with Industry standards, material standards, and specifications. (ASTM, ASM, ISO, IEC, NIST, JIS, etc.)-Familiarity with PLM or CAD software. (specifically NX, Teamcenter, and Agile)-Server or database management experience. (Windows Server, Windows Active Directory, MySQL)-Solid Excel experience. (macros and complex equations)-Experience with data analysis.
