We are looking for you to join our team as a CAD CAM Engineering Manager 3 based out of Sunnyvale, CA. In this role at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide Hardware Engineering Organization. The successful candidate will be collaborative, open, transparent, and team-oriented with a focus on team empowerment & shared responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning, and a culture of automation.What you'll get to do:This position focuses on the management of the CAD (Computer Aided Design) drafting and configuration management group within the Sunnyvale Marine Systems Engineering Department. Primary responsibilities include managing 2 teams of drafters and a team of configuration management personnel. The 2 drafting team consists of 2 direct report managers that oversee up to 24 drafters that create solid models and drawings using CREO and NX with Teamcenter, develop 2D/3D layouts, create detailed manufacturing drawings and revise existing models, drawings and electronic images. The configuration management team is responsible for drawing checking, maintaining CAD and drawing standards, and engineering document configuration control. You will apply knowledge of design, modeling and drawing practices and guide your team to solve design issues with the Engineering team. The drafting group is a represented team (union).Your responsibilities include
  • Ensure the engineering work products meet quality standards, cost budgets and schedule deadlines
  • Maintaining appropriate staffing levels that commensurate with dynamic workloads. Coordinate drafting needs with engineering managers, project engineers and programs managers
  • Establishing and maintaining standards and procedures for generation of models and associated drawings
  • Develop and maintain processes that govern drawing and model development, configuration control and change control
  • Collaborate with various Northrop Grumman Digital Transformation team to implement MPLM
  • Plan and manage employee training and development, and employee performance evaluation
  • Develop and collect metrics to support continuous improvement efforts and cost estimating for future workBasic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field with a minimum of 10 years of related experience
    • Must have demonstrated leadership and teambuilding capabilities and experience.
    • Experience in CREO, NX, and Teamcenter.
    • Create, improve and sustain engineering systems, standards, and processes.
    • Ability to organize and manage multiple products/programs with the focus on delivering within cost and on schedule.
    • Strong knowledge in engineering systems and processes such as CAD, GD&T and DFMA.
    • Proven ability to perform problem analysis and resolution using lean and continuous improvement tools
    • US Citizenship with ability to apply for DoD Secret clearance (or higher).Preferred Qualifications:
      • Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline (preferred Mechanical).
      • Experience as a Technical Lead, Project Manager, or other demonstrated leadership role related to program execution
      • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), requirements development, or technical project management experience preferred.
      • Understanding and knowledge of Agile (SCRUM) techniques and activities.
      • Knowledge of technology road map development
      • Experience with proposals development and Earned Value Management Systems

        Salary Range: $155,400 USD - $233,200 USD

        Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
