Location: This role can be based in Sunnyvale, CA, San Francisco, CA Omaha, NE, Chicago, IL, or New York, NY depending on which location the applicant chosen for the role is currently residing.

The Knowledge Management Solutions (KMS) team is responsible for organizing, writing, and publishing LinkedIn's Help Center content. Additionally, KMS develops instructional, procedural, and technical content distributed externally across channels and LinkedIn experiences such as chat, email, in-product, and search

As a Staff Knowledge Engineer, you sit at the intersection of content and technology to support the KMS team, our cross-functional partners, and our customers across all lines of business. Interacting with partners to establish yourself as a peer and trusted partner within KMS team will be some of your primary responsibilities. You will help to lead and manage content strategy, workflows, and technical solutions that our content teams will use to author, publish, localize, and deliver contextual content across the customer journey.

Taking care of our internal and external customers is our number one priority. You'll be expected to maintain solid, trusted, collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners to successfully analyze and solve issues together. You will work closely with other KMS leads, Senior content strategists, Product, and Engineering to create and define a great content authoring and user experience for our employees and members.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan, design, implement, and manage technological solutions end-to-end
Build a deep understanding of current and future authoring tools and content workflows for stakeholders.
Contribute to all phases of the content lifecycle and help define improvements that influence the direction of the KMS team strategy with impact across the organization.
Lead team projects, define improvements and influence the direction of the KMS team strategy with impact across the organization.
Drive discussions with senior content strategists to understand requirements and ideate on ways to improve authoring workflows.
Foster partnerships with KMS leads, product, and engineering teams to understand the current content ecosystem and explore new solutions, workflows, and technologies.
Act as an escalation point of contact and effectively triage, investigate, and resolve complex technical issues with leads and partners.
Represent the KMS team at key stakeholder meetings to continually provide awareness of new and ongoing issues as well as quality improvement initiatives.
Support legacy authoring processes and tools as we complete migration to a new CMS.
Leverage industry knowledge and business experience to improve processes.
Communicate effectively with KMS team, technical and other non-technical stakeholders.
Model LinkedIn's culture and values and actively participate in developing a healthy team culture.


Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of combined industry experience supporting content teams - ideally with some combination in content development, tools, and/or software engineering.
Experience supporting content development, structure, workflows, and migrations in a production environment.
Content engineering-specific experience with:
Authoring tools (XMetal, Oxygen, MS Word) and Content Management Systems (any)
DITA, Information Mapping, or topic-based authoring methodology
Content organization, structure, reuse
Scripting languages like Python or similar
Supporting, debugging, and optimizing content workflows and content migrations.

Familiarity with:
Collaboration and workflow tools like SharePoint, Confluence, and Jira
SQL or other data analytics/data science languages
Software quality assurance
Ability to develop strong cross-functional relationships and promote a healthy team culture.
Detail-oriented with ability to take initiative, communicate clearly, work through ambiguity, and proactively address problems.
Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
Passionate about learning, having a positive attitude and growth mindset.
