Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.. Northrop Grumman Marine Systems is seeking an Aeronautical Engineer to join our team of highly qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Sunnyvale, CA. OR Charlottesville, VA. OR Ocean Springs, MS. Northrop Grumman Marine Systems specializes in the development, manufacture, assembly and testing of missile launching and handling systems, propulsion, and power generation systems for naval surface ships and submarines. The successful candidate will support current and future launcher programs on development and application of physics based modeling and simulation software using Matlab and C++. Candidate may also assist in the development of structural dynamics and gas dynamics performance assessment models for missile launching systems. Models will have a focus on non-linear structural dynamics, gas dynamics, hydrodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid-structure interaction; elements required to accurately predict launch and shock performance. Candidate will also perform test data analysis for missile launch and shock tests. Additional responsibilities may be assigned commensurate with performance or due to business needs.Basic Qualifications:. Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering, Math, Physics or a closely related technical discipline with 2 years of relevant experience or a Master's Degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering, Math, Physics or a closely related technical discipline with no years of relevant experience.. Experience using C/C++ and Matlab for physics based applications.. Strong writing and presentation skills are needed for documentation and technical exchange.. Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain a security clearance.. Preferred Qualifications:. Master's degree in Aeronautical and/or Mechanical Engineering, Math, Physics or a closely related technical discipline.. Experience working on team-based software development projects.. Understanding and knowledge of Agile (SCRUM) techniques and activities.. Design and operational knowledge of Navy programs.. Active Security Clearance.. Salary Range: 66800 - 122500. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
