About the Job: The SIRT Product Security Engineers will work side by side with SIRT Incident Managers to investigate potential security vulnerabilities with Juniper products. After identification of the potential vulnerability by the SIRT Incident Manager, the SIRT Product Security Engineer will be engaged to analyze and troubleshoot the potential issue at the highest priority. Internship June - August 2020 About the Team: The Juniper SIRT is the focal point for product security vulnerabilities. The SIRT drives resolution of product vulnerabilities for Juniper, our customers, and our partners by discovering and analyzing vulnerabilities, collaborating on solutions, coordinating response, and communicating warnings and mitigation strategies. Responsibilities: Enhance the validity and reliability of SIRT product security advisories, published by the Juniper SIRT and proactively sent to all customers, partners, and resellers of Juniper Networks. The SIRT PSE is responsible for: Replication (prior to PR) Escalation (to Engineering via PR creation) Mitigation (tested and proven workarounds) Validation (of the fix via a test build). Basic Qualifications: Enrollment in Bachelor Degree Program in Engineering or Computer Science, returning to school fall 2020 Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot complex problems Desired Qualifications: A strong ability to use scripting languages such as Perl, Python, TCL, and UNIX shell programming would be very desirable Linux and/or FreeBSD experience along with the ability to compile C source code is also preferred
