paraprofessional position is available to provide one-on-one
support for a high school student with complex medical needs in
Wilmington, DE. This contract role runs from March 18, 2026,
through June 11, 2026, with a standard schedule of Monday through
Friday, 7:15 AM to 2:45 PM (37.5 hours per week). Key
responsibilities include assisting the student with medical and
behavioral support, maintaining a safe environment, and
facilitating communication, as the student is non-verbal but uses a
unique method to communicate. The role requires comfort working
with significant fluids such as saliva and vomit, as the student
may drool and self-induce vomiting. Ideal candidates will have
completed paraeducator certification or have at least 60 college
credits. Candidates without these qualifications must be willing to
take and pass the paraeducator exam prior to starting employment to
meet Delaware Department of Education requirements effective
February 1, 2026. Female candidates are preferred for this position
based on district preferences. Additional qualifications: LPN, CNA,
or PCA experience is required. If a Registered Behavior Technician
(RBT), candidates must secure BCBA supervision beforehand; direct
supervision by BCBA is not allowed during direct student
interaction due to compliance concerns. Candidates must agree to
cover the $85 cost for fingerprinting and background check prior to
