Primary Function of Position:The Clinical Education Lab Coordinator facilitates the success of an internal to Intuitive learning program for product development team members (e.g., engineers, designers, and developers). The learning program covers in-depth training on Intuitive products and services, surgical and diagnostic procedures, design control, and usability considerations to empower development teams to produce well-informed, user-centered designs.The Lab Coordinator manages the training lab spaces, coordination of labs, maintenance and troubleshooting of systems and equipment, facilitates ordering and tracking of inventory, and executes continuous improvement projects. The lab coordinator must have technical aptitude and experience working as part of a team. They must be able to work autonomously and be proactive and resourceful, with a strong work ethic. The lab coordinator will have a passion and inclination for organization and structure while maintaining the flexibility required for expanding program.Position Responsibilities:

  • Organize, maintain, and manage the lab spaces (dry labs with synthetic models). Collaborate with preclinical labs as needed
  • Assist with lab set-up
  • Assist with maintaining inventory of equipment, including systems, instruments and accessories, and third-party equipment
  • When required, work with vendors for ordering, tracking, and maintenance
  • Coordinate and perform system and hardware delivery and installation
  • Train teams on safe and proper use of equipment in lab
  • Clean and sterilize instrumentation as needed
  • Maintain laboratory records and tracking systems
  • Perform and/or coordinate maintenance activities for lab equipment, including, but not limited to; system troubleshooting, inspections, preventive maintenance, software updates, and upgrades of Intuitive products, and troubleshooting of video equipment and other 3rd party lab equipment.
  • Work within the Human Factors Clinical Education Team in a creative, dependable, and flexible manner to improve the existing learning program
    • Assist with coordination of system allocation and lab assignments
    • Support team with daily tasks (administrative as well as project tasks)
    • Keep team informed of project status
    • Execute continuous improvement projects within the lab
    • Manage day-to-day relationships
    • Manage smaller scope projects
    • Develop product and servicing competency in the following technology:
      • Ion - and da Vinci - Technology
        • Support Intuitive teams as required to facilitate company objectives
        • Demonstrate individual characteristics expected of Intuitive personnel (e.g., Character, capacity, energy, experience)
          Skills/Job Requirements:
          • Minimum Bachelor's Degree and Minimum 2-4 years of experience in related field preferred
          • Proven track record of troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems preferred
          • Proven administrative and organizational skills
          • Experience in medical device, or similar regulated industry, a significant plus
          • Experience in a hospital setting (e.g., biomedical engineering experience), a significant plus
          • Ability to lift 30 lbs. and move wheeled objects up to 1,200 lbs.
          • Ability to interface with customers in a highly professional manner
          • Ability to work with and across various groups and levels of management within the organization, including other engineering groups, marketing, clinical engineering, and regulatory. Excellent collaboration skills.
