Job Description:
Work with customers on new implementation projects to interface
Cepheid instruments to LIS systems; Assist customers to configure
new GX systems to connect to networks and LIS systems; Map test
codes, write result rules and verify data transmissions on GX and
LIS systems; Troubleshoot and resolve advanced network connectivity
issues and apply Cepheid GX security guidelines, Windows network
and Windows operating systems; Conduct advanced ASTM/HL7 data
analysis to troubleshoot and resolve LIS data transmission issues
and applying a deep understanding of underlying Cepheid LIS
communication protocol; Document inquiries, complaints and
resulting investigations in the complaint management system; Adhere
to Quality Management System procedures; Maintain product knowledge
and support continuous improvement efforts; Contribute to quality
compliance through accurate and concise case documentation;
Represent Technical Support on projects and operational teams,
communicating findings back to Technical Support. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in information technology,
engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education
equivalent) plus two years of experience in job or in clinical
laboratory instrumentation, software, systems or in technical
support. Experience must include: Working with network
communication protocol used in the medical and diagnostic fields;
Working with TCP/IP protocol suite, Microsoft Windows network and
performance management as it relates to medical equipment and
medical devices; Configuring network infrastructure and network
hardware, including wireless access points, firewall, routers,
switches, controllers within; Designing network data flow models
along with setting up, maintaining and troubleshooting of computer
network architecture used in a medical diagnostic environment;
Working on products and projects with design, implementation,
production, maintenance and record keeping as standardized by FDA;
Working and handling of patient sensitive data in accordance with
HIPAA compliance as dictated by the FDA; Maintaining records of
investigation, handling and resolution of customer issues and
software defects using CRM for FDA auditing; and Working directly
with different types of medical device end users in troubleshooting
