Then you should join Lockheed Martin Space's Optical Payload Center of Excellence (OPCoE) for space applications as a Senior Staff Electro-Optical Engineer!

            We are looking for a strong background in electro-optical engineering to develop high TRL (Technical Readiness Level) products for missile and space hardware. This position will report to a group that develops a product portfolio consisting of payload controllers, image data processors, high rate data routers, memory/storage devices, focal plane bias and regulation electronics, fast steering mirror controllers, laser controllers, cryocooler electronics and other strategic electro-optical components.
            You should demonstrate effective verbal communication, develop concise and professional technical presentations, and deliver briefings to peers, leadership, and US Government customers. We are seeking a new colleague who is willing and able to work in a classified environment.

            As a Senior Staff Electro-Optical Engineer you will be: (a) leading the development of electro-optical sensor controllers and working with Systems Engineering and suppliers (b) leading program technical reviews throughout the product development and maturation processes assuring optical payload electronic configuration Items, circuitry designs and electrical components with specific characteristics are within specified electrical requirements and perform according to specifications, (c) reporting progress periodically

            Specific responsibilities include:
            --- Performing as a responsible system engineer and supporting system level testing for the development of optical payload electronics systems
            --- Leading design reviews, Engineering Material Review Board (EMRB) hardware discrepancy decisions and Failure Review Board (FRB) as required
            --- Assuring test anomalies and troubleshooting issues are resolved
            --- Generating review and presentation of payload electronics Product Certifications
            --- Providing technical guidance and direction to electronics vendors and LM electrical design teams to ensure compliance of optical payload electronics products with all program requirements hardware and software for your component
            --- Leading multi -functional development teams, coordinating with partners (e.g. subcontractor, customer, SEIT, and parts organizations)
            --- Owning optical payload electronics documentation (design, analysis, and interface definitions)
            --- Creation of technology maturation and risk reduction plans for critical electrical payload elements and subsystems
            --- Supporting proposal development activities for objective payload systems
            --- Coordinating with partners and stakeholders (e.g., subcontractor, customer, SEIT, and multiple M&P and parts organizations) and handling closure of action items and liens
            --- Leading risk and identifying mitigation plans to meet productivity, quality, cost, schedule, and mission success objectives

            You would typically have a Bachelors degree and 14-20 years of professional experience, a Masters and 12-18 years, or a PhD and 9-15 years.

            Basic Qualifications:
            --- Knowledge or experience of EO/IR systems and components
            --- Experience in the build, integration, and test of electro-optical hardware including electronics circuit cards with FPGA, ASIC chips
            --- Experience in hardware development at multiple levels of technical maturity
            --- Knowledge or understanding of the systems engineering life cycle and processes
            --- US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
            Desired Skills:
            --- Experience in developing laser/lidar controllers. These controllers must have the ability to control and sequence a laser system through various turn on/turn off sequences. This includes the laser power sources (DC-DC convertors) and any thermal regulation
            --- Experience in developing image data processors. These image data processors may perform a range of processing
            --- Experience in interfacing, biasing and controlling focal plane assemblies. For passive EO, we work with staring and scanning FPAs in the visible and IR domain. For active EO, we work across multiple types of lidar receiver arrays, primarily GmAPD
            --- Demonstrated experience across all aspects of the program lifecycle, such as design, development and production
            --- Experience in developing high reliability space components or subsystems
            --- Experience developing EO instruments/sensors for space or airborne environments
            --- EO/ systems engineering experience in optical sensor development, with hands-on experience in delivering hardware / products
            --- Design and fabrication of highly engineered (high TRL) systems
            --- Experience working with Subcontractors and sub-tier suppliers
