Job Description: Ethicon Endo-Surgery, Inc. was created 30 years ago in Cincinnati, Ohio, developing innovative devices that have driven the shift from open to minimally invasive surgery that continues to lead the industry today. Our diverse team of engineers, designers, and technical specialists are on the forefront of technology in the medical device industry. The Principal Software Systems Engineer will make vital contributions to the New Product Development (NPD) pipeline and transform patient care through innovation. They are responsible for working with our NPD teams to design and architect product software for use in cutting edge medical devices. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop software architecture and requirements for highly complex medical capital modules
• Create software interface control specifications for connected electromechanical modules.
• Drives the software developer teams to ensure software features are defined and testable and planned accoridng to the Dev Ready Framework.
• Manage software system and subsystem requirements including definition, decomposition, analysis, and trace management to ensure clear and unambiguous design specifications.
• Design embedded product software to integrate with mechanical, electrical, and distributed computing systems.
• Mentor members of the engineering staff to conform to Industry Standards for Medical Device Software (IEC 62304)
